Kickin' it with Kinect

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a totally awesome Christmas! I definitely did. I got a super sweet Kitchen Aid mixer, a few trades (Oracle, Ex Machina, Fables, Walking Dead, etc.), a Wonder Woman Ami-Comi, Hello Kitty/Johnny Cupcakes swag, a Dalek (which I've been terrifying the dog with), and a LOT of socks and underwear (thanks mom!). Of all of the awesome things I got, by far the coolest thing ever is the Kinect.

If you have an Xbox, I highly suggest this piece of tech. It is unreal! Like the Wii, it allows you to make your own avatar, and uses your body motions to translate onto the screen. Unlike the Wii, instead of using a remote control, it uses motion capture to recognize your body, no controller needed! The Kinect bundle comes with "Kinect Adventures". It's a pretty awesome game. It's basically a bunch of small games packed into one. It has a hand-ball type game, a bubble popping game, you fix leaks in another, and there is even a white water rafting game! It's so flipping cool.

The Kinect also has a camera in it, so while you're looking like an idiot it takes pictures of you. Kind of like when you're on a roller coaster. The Kinect then upload the pictures to kinectshare.com, and if you sign in with your gamer tag, all the pictures are easily accessible.

I'm also a big fan of it because I live in the Northeast, and it's wintertime, so after playing the Kinect for a few hours, I don't feel like I need to trek my butt out into the frozen tundra to go to the gym.

Anyhoo, we ordered a few new games (Dance Central and Kinect Sports), so I'm sure that at very least Miss Cara M. and I will have a great review of those for you later this week!
